VIOLA ADMIT TO CHIESA INTER TALKS

FIORENTINA have admitted that they are negotiating Enrico Chiesa's sale to Internazionale, but insisted that nothing will go ahead until after the Italian Supercoppa.

Senior Viola director Giuseppe Pavone has admitted that Chiesa is likely to depart, after becoming unsettled by the financial problems that have beset the club, and also reportedly rendered uncomfortable by coach Roberto Mancini's tactics.

"The negotiations are continuing," stated Pavone, "But whatever happens Chiesa will stay with Fiorentina at least until the Italian Supercup Final with Roma on August 19."

The deal will almost certainly involve some form of player exchange - which would be a relief to Mancini as he struggles to assemble a squad.

"We would obviously prefer the money in cash," added Pavone. "But if we really had to choose between those offered to us, we'd prefer Nicola Ventola rather than Brazilian Adriano."
