CANNAVARO PLEDGES TO STAY AT PARMA
The 27-year-old ace has attracted the interest of both Lazio and their city rivals Roma and he has been linked with a move away after the losses of Lilian Thuram and Gianluigi Buffon in the summer.
Lazio are keen on bringing in a top class defender ahead of the new season and club president Sergio Cragnotti admitted he would like to team-up Cannavaro with international team-mate Alessandro Nesta in a dream central defensive partnership.
Lazio have been linked with move for Fiorentina's Czech star Tomas Repka and they also lost out to Juventus for Thuram.
The Italian international has pledged to stay at Parma despite the speculation linking him with a move and he insists even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League he will remain at the club.
Parma trail French side Lille 2-0 from the first leg of their qualifying tie, but Cannavaro is confident that they can overturn the deficit and make it through to the lucrative group stages.
"I don't want to think about being knocked out of the Champions League. We are going to Lille to win and we can do it. And even if we don't qualify to the Champions League, I won't move from Parma. I repeat, I am not on the transfer market," he declared.
