NOBBY'S PERUVIAN CONTROVERSY SET TO CONTINUE

JULIO CESAR URIBE has revealed his squad for the World Cup qualifier against Uruguay on September 4, and his naming of Newcastle's Nolberto Solano is sure to add to the controversy surrounding the winger.

Magpies boss Bobby Robson has often been critical of Solano's South American travels, with the player returning tired to the Newcastle fold.

This may seem slightly hypocritical, given that the North Eastern side received a five-year work permit when Solano signed a new contract, based on his Peruvian appearances.

The 26-year-old, who scored Peru's winner against Colombia in their last qualifier, is part of an 18-man squad, that also features former Newcastle target Martin Hidalgo, who now plays for Velez Sarsfield in Argentina.
