BHOYS SIGN PSG KEEPER

CELTIC have snapped up young goalkeeper Michael Herbert from Paris Saint Germain.

The 20-year-old had been on trial in Glasgow for the majority of the summer, and impressed sufficiently to earn a two-year deal.

Speaking about the free transfer capture on the club`s official website, Celtic goalkeeping coach Terry Gennoe said: "Michael is a very positive lad who likes taking crosses and commands his area well and that's what really caught our eye."

It is unlikely that Herbert will initially be challenging Robert Douglas for a first-team place, with Gennoe adding:  "He will train with the Under-21s but as with all young keepers, I'll be asking him to take part in some of the small-sided matches with the first-team.

"Michael is a nice lad with a tremendous attitude and because of that, the senior keepers have enjoyed working with him and have been very positive about everything he has done so far."

Meanwhile, Neil Lennon has been forced to withdraw from Northern Ireland`s World Cup qualifier with Denmark after picking up a groin strain.
