HOT-SHOT FORAN SIGNS FOR CARLISLE

CARLISLE UNITED boss Roddy Collins finalised a deal for Irish striker Richie Foran and claimed he will be worth more than £1 million in a few years' time.

The Shelbourne striker, who has had trials at Bristol Rovers and Middlesbrough, saw a move to SPL side Aberdeen collapse in June when he failed to agree personal terms with the Scottish side.

However, he has agreed a deal with the Cumbrians, who shelved out around £100,000 for his services, but Collins claims he will be worth ten times that amount in a couple of years.

"This will be the most exciting bit of business I have ever done as a manager," Collins said.

"This player potentially will be valued in the millions in two or three years' time, I have no doubt. These are very exciting times for me."

Foran agreed a three-year deal at Brunton Park and he is expected to make his debut in Saturday's clash with Rochdale.

Meanwhile, the club are still in negotiations with Sunderland with a view to loaning striker Michael Reddy for three months.
