ELLIS STRIKE GIVES BURNLEY WIN

TONY ELLIS' goal five minutes from time secured a 3-2 victory for Burnley at Bradford that takes them to the top of the Nationwide First Division.

The former Blackpool striker's effort put Stan Ternant's side in front for the third time, after The Bantams had twice pulled level and led to Ternent stating he will offer the former Rochdale and Preston frontman a longer deal at Turf Moor.

Glen Little (pictured) put The Clarets in front on 46 and 79 minutes, but first Ashley Ward and then Stuart McCall nine minutes from time seemed to have secured a point for Jim Jefferies' side.

Burnley go two points clear of Grimsby, who took top spot after a 1-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday.

Bradford, who previously had a 100% victory, remain in third place, three points behind Burnley with a game in hand.
