ADANI STAYING WITH VIOLA

FIORENTINA star Daniele Adani will remain at The Viola despite interest from abroad, and a long-standing link to Roma.

Agent Paolo Conti confirmed that his client will not be leaving Artemio Franchi, and admitted that Roma had not followed up their original enquiry.

"Adani will stay at Fiorentina," Conti stated. "He will remain because he is a key piece in coach Roberto Mancini's plans.

"Roma don't seem to be overly interested even if Adani has been contacted by a number of Italian and European clubs including Monaco."

The 27-year-old ex-Brescia defender played 25 times for Fiorentina last season scoring once, and has been a consistent performer since arriving at the club for the 1999-2000 campaign.

After starting his career at Serie B Modena, Adani has notched up 105 top-flight appearances, and was at one point a Lazio player - although he never made an appearance in a Biancoceleste shirt.
