SAMMER SLAMS "ARROGANT" STARS

BORUSSIA DORTMUND coach Matthias Sammer has blasted his team for Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Bayern Munich claiming they were too 'arrogant' in their approach to the game.

Bayern ended The Schwarz-Gelben's 100 per cent start to the Bundesliga campaign and although Sammer was disappointed with the result, it was the attitude of his players that annoyed him most.

"Everyone wanted to be the hero and shine with the deadly pass. It became more and more complicated and it almost drove me insane," said Sammer.

"We lost because we were arrogant when we stepped onto the pitch. That's all there is to it."

The Euro 96 winner refused to name the players concerned but the main culprit is thought to be "the Mozart of football" Tomas Rosicky.

The Czech starlet, who looked unsettled after a recent bid from Internazionale, had a rare off-day and it was his misplaced pass that gave Hasan Salihamidzic the opportunity to score the all-important first goal.

"Sammer has every reason to be angry with us," admitted the 20-year-old.

BVB captain Stefan Reuter acknowledged the loss was a setback but insists the 1997 Champions League victors will bounce back.

"The defeat is a severe blow. But you can't talk about everything falling apart," added the veteran defender.
