CARDIFF AGREE THORNE FEE
CARDIFF CITY are set to sign Stoke's Peter Thorne after the two clubs agreed a fee reported to be almost £1.8 million.
Cardiff had already seen one substantial bid turned down by their Division Two rivals, although The Potters' board now seem to have decided that £1.8 million is too good an offer to refuse.
The 28-year-old is expected to arrive in Cardiff later on Wednesday in order to undergo a medical and finalise details of his contract.
Thorne has notched an impressive 65 goals in 157 appearances for Stoke since joining them from Swindon for £500,000 in August 1997.
