WEST HAM have taken a close look at former Derby County midfielder Mauricio Solis, with the Costa Rican international playing in the midweek friendly with Rushden & Diamonds.
The 28-year-old, who can also play at full back, is looking for a return to England after leaving San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS.
Glenn Roeder and his management team will run the rule over the player, who came to Derby with former Hammer Paulo Wanchope, before deciding whether to offer him a permanent contract.
Solis played the full 90 minutes of the 5-1 win for the East Londoners, with Paul Kitson claiming a hat-trick, and is keen to have a second crack at The Premiership.
