ARSENAL LINKED TO ICELANDIC KEEPER

ARSENAL are believed to be taking an interest in Rosenborg's Icelandic international Arni Gautur Arason.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper, who would almost certainly not leave the Norwegian giants while they are still involved in the Champions League, has already spent a brief trial spell at Arsenal - right back in 1997 when he played for Stjarnan.

On that occasion the interest was not followed up, and a move to Trondheim club Rosenberg soon materialised.

The player himself has been quick to deny the rumours that he is looking to move to The Premiership, insisting that he is happy in Norway.

"I haven't asked my agent to find a new club," insisted Arason. "I'm well established at Rosenborg, and enjoy being first choice at the club."

"I don't have to get out of here."

With Richard Wright arriving at Highbury in the summer from Ipswich Town, there is mounting pressure on current number one and England international David Seaman.

Seaman turns 38 in two days but is first choice for both club and country, despite occasional criticism from the press.
