COLLINS CONTINUES CUMBRIANS CLEAROUT

CARLISLE UNITED took the number of players on their transfer list up to seven on Monday as rookie manager Roddy Collins continued his Brunton Park shake-up.

Defenders Craig Lewis, Kyle May and Adam Thwaites have all been told by Collins that they do not figure in his plans and are free to leave, as has midfielder Paul Anthony.

The discarded quartet join Mark Thurstan, Ian Stevens and Lee Maddison, who have also been shown the door by the Irishman.

The Cumbrians are currently without a league win this season and Collins is keen to reorganise the squad which he inherited from Ian Atkins during the summer.

Meanwhile, director Mark Knighton says that the club is six weeks away from being sold to a mystery third party - believed to be Collins's brother Steve, the former WBO middleweight champion.
