RONALDO BACK IN INTER SQUAD

BRAZILIAN superstar Ronaldo is in line to play his first competitive game in almost 18 months after being named in the Internazionale squad for Thursday's Uefa Cup tie with Romanian side Brasov.

The 24-year-old striker, who has battled back from two successive serious knee injuries, could get his chance to prove his fitness in the rearranged First Round first leg tie.

It is the first time that Ronaldo has been included in the Inter squad since suffering a reccurrence of his knee injury in a Coppa Italia match against Lazio last April.

The former PSV Eindhoven and Barcelona forward may have to make do with a place on the bench as Hector Cuper is set to keep faith with Nicola Ventola and Mohamed Kallon, who started up front against Venezia last Sunday.

Ronaldo's need to return to fitness has been accelerated by an Achillies injury to Christain Vieri, which is expected to keep him out of action for a month.
