VERON BETTER THAN ERIC - SCHOLES

The England international has been dazzled by the Argentinian import, who has already scored twice since his record move to Old Trafford, and reckons he can eclipse the impact made by French maverick Cantona.

"I think Juan is better than Eric, to be honest," he told United's official website.

"In terms of his all-round game, I think that he will go on and do more than Eric has done.

"I'm not sure if he'll have more of an influence on the team, but he's just a better player.

"Don't get me wrong, Eric was amazing, but I just think that Juan's got a bit more."

The former Lazio midfielder struggled in an advanced role during the last-gasp win over Lille in midweek, but has shown glimpses of his exceptional vision and passing ability during his early days on Manchester.
