BOKSIC: INCE MUST STAY

Ince becomes a free agent at the end of the coming season and Ince is reportedly keen to return to Italy where he spent two years with Internazionale.

Boro suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Southampton on Saturday and missed the drive and agression of the 33-year-old midfielder, who was absent with a viral infection.

Boksic acknowledges the key role Ince has for Steve McClaren's men and called for the player to remain in the North East. 

"We missed Paul in this game," said the Croatian front-man.

"It was very important for us to win this match but unfortunately we let ourselves down and the result is a big disappointment.

"We could have done with Paul out there on the pitch. He is a great man, a great player and a great leader for us. That's why I would love him to stay at the end of the season. I am hopeful he will do so."
