GORAM TEMPTED BY SCOTTISH RETURN
ANDY GORAM is happy to stay at Coventry City but, according to agent Ken Moyes, if an offer came in from Scotland, then he would be forced to consider moving for a more permanent deal.
Goram picked up the man-of-match plaudits in Coventry's game against Gillingham, but is on a month-to-month contract and is being eyed by several Scottish sides.
The former Scotland international has been linked with both Livingston and St Johnstone, and Moyes confirmed to planetfootball that any offer would make the goalkeeper consider his future.
A move to St Johnstone would appear to rest on whether Tommy Burns is appointed as manager, meaning that any talk of a contract is, as yet, premature.
"St Johnstone are not in a position to make any decisions at the moment, so there's nothing until someone gets the job," Moyes told planetfootball.
"I certainly haven't discussed anything with Tommy Burns because he hasn't got the job yet!
"I know that Livingston do have Andy as one of the goalkeepers that they are interested in and there have been discussions but no more than that.
"At the moment Andy is still under contract at Coventry, albeit on a month to month basis, and that is where he would like to stay.
"He thinks they have a great team-spirit there at the moment and they have done well recently.
"Andy got man of the match on Saturday and would be more than happy to stay at Coventry."
The Sky Blues have been outstanding in the wake of Gordon Strachan's dismissal, with caretaker boss Roland Nilsson very much favourite to be offered the vacant role - but any delay in a decision could give other teams time in which to tempt Goram away from Highfield Road.
"He was outstanding at the weekend, a different class, and the chairman at Coventry has said that the only reason that they have not signed a deal - which is a year with a year option - is because of the manager's position," added Moyes.
"Now Roland has done a wonderful job as caretaker and ideally Andy would like him to get the job on a permanent basis and to sign the deal to stay at Coventry.
"There would be a lot of pressure on Andy if Livingston or St Johnstone do make an offer because then he would have to make the decision - 'well do I hang on at Coventry?'
"However, as much he likes it down there, and however successful he is down there, how long can he wait out when he has got a firm offer up here?
"If he has a concrete offer then I think that would obviously decide it.
"He is in better shape now than he was when Rangers almost qualified for the semi-finals of the European Champions league. He is lighter now.
"He would be happy to play at Coventry, but if there is a contract offer on the table from Scotland then it puts pressure on his current situation."
At 37-years-old, Goram is looking for his role at a club to mature, and Moyes confirmed that the former Rangers star would like to pass on his experience to younger players at Coventry City.
"He's not looking to be a coach, but he is considering becoming a goalkeeping coach - which is his specialist subject, if you like!
He would be happy to take on that role and he's made that clear to Coventry as well.
"That as well as being the goalkeeper, he'd be happy to take on a coaching role.
"I think big Steve Ogrizovic, who has been the goalkeeping coach, may be moving up to the youth team. And, if that is the case, then Andy would love to take over as goalkeeping coach.
