HERTHA DISMISS BUCKLEY LINK

HERTHA BERLIN have moved quickly to quash reports linking the club with Bochum forward Delron Buckley.

Scouts from the capital club reportedly attended Bochum's Friday night match with Reutlingen to keep tabs on the 23-year-old South African international.

"This is not true. One or two years ago he (Buckley) was a topic for us but right now we are not interested," stated coach Jurgen Rober.

Buckley`s contract with the North German club runs until 2004 and Bochum are believed to want around £3 million for their star front-man.

Bayer Leverkusen coach Klaus Toppmoller is also keen on the player who he worked with during his spell at the Ruhrstadion.

Meanwhile, Berlin front-man Alex Alves has suffered the embarassment of having his car taken away from him by the club after it emerged the player does not have a valid driving licence for Germany.
