BAYERN: TARNAT WILL COST £2.5 MILLION-PLUS
Tarnat, 32, has spent the vast majority of the season on the substitutes' bench with coach Ottmar Hitzfeld utilising Bixente Lizarazu in the left back slot.
"I am not content right now. I'll wait until the winter break and then speak with the club," vowed Tarnat.
Bundesliga pace-setters Kaiserslautern are reportedly eyeing the defender but Munich chiefs will not allow the squad player to go on the cheap.
"If a club is ready to pay the right price we will talk. Negotiations begin at 8 million Marks (£2.53 million)," explained general manager Uli Hoeness.
Tarnat has already snubbed Rapid Vienna but the opportunity to continue in the German top-flight with The Red Devils may tempt the former German international.
Meanwhile, another Bayern star considering an Olympic Stadium exit is Paulo Sergio who is growing tired of the squad rotation policy under Hitzfeld.
"This is my last year with Bayern," the Brazilian told 'Tageszeitung'.
Hitzfeld refused to comment on the Sergio situation adding diplomatically: "We will see at the end of the season whether he really wants to go and then review the situation."
