RONALDO: I WON'T PLAY AGAINST CHILE
The brilliant Brazilian stated that he would join up with the rest of the squad to show unity, but was almost certainly out of the game itself.
"I consider it practically impossible for me to recover before the game," said Ronaldo.
"Anyway I had to show up for the coach."
Ronaldo clarified that Inter's doctors knew he would not be playing against Chile and although his club coach Hector Cuper did not want him to leave Milan, he acknowledged that Brazil needed the morale boost of seeing their talisman with them.
Speaking about the minor strain in his leg that he suffered in last week's Uefa Cup game against Brasov, Ronaldo stated that it was not serious but it prevented him from being fit.
"After almost two years without playing, a strain was always a possibility."
Brazil and Uruguay are equal on points with three games to go in the South American qualifying series.
