LEEDS EYE HOT-PROPERTY JENAS

LEEDS UNITED have reportedly made tentative enquiries into having first refusal on Nottingham Forest prodigy Jermain Jenas, but may face competition from Newcastle United.

Jenas has been a revelation for Forest this season, and along with David Prutton, looks likely to become a Premiership player of some standing.

Leeds manager David O'Leary has long been interested in bringing the cream of England's young talent to Elland Road - and Jenas certainly fits into this category.

Mindful of a backlash from their fans Forest have been quick to slap a £5 million asking price on Jenas's head, and tied the 18-year-old down to a five year deal.

Newcastle are also said to be closely watching the youngster, and Bobby Robson and his chief scout Charlie Woods have been present at two recent Forest games.
