BERGKAMP QUESTIONS AGENT'S INFORMATION

DENNIS BERGKAMP has insisted that his agent Rob Jansen did not speak for him with his assertions that the Dutchman was being forced out of Arsenal, stating that his relationship with manager Arsene Wenger is still fine.

Jansen had insisted that Bergkamp continued omission from the starting line-up would lead to the marksman leaving the club, but his charge has stated that his agent's information is different to his own.

"It would hurt if anyone at Arsenal wanted to sell me because I feel I've given and continue to give a great deal to this club," said Bergkamp.

"People need to understand that my agent deals with people at boardroom level so that's why he may have different information.

"I only deal with Mr Wenger at Arsenal on transfer or contract matters.

"He knows about football so he is the only person I would ever need to speak to. My agent would deal with David Dein.

"Mr Wenger has always made it quite clear that he wants to keep me and he isn't the type to say things that he doesn't mean.

"Maybe my agent has other information. Perhaps he has got another impression of things from Mr Dein.

"But this would be a surprise as Mr Dein has given no indication that he wants me to leave."
