PSG FACING KEEPER CRISIS

PARIS SAINT GERMAIN are facing a goalkeeping crisis with the news that Jerome Alonzo has strained his thigh muscle.

Alonzo was deputising for the injured number one Lionel Letizi (pictured), who is still suffering from tendinitis, during the game against Sedan, but he injured his leg taking a goal-kick late in the game and now faces a spell on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old former St Etienne keeper says that he had the same sort of problem while at Les Verts, and is waiting on the results of a scan to see just how serious his injury is.

"I have already had this kind of injury with St Etienne in March," said Alonzo. "I was out for eight weeks then.

"Now, depending on how serious it is I could be out for between five days and two months.

"Hopefully it won't be too serious and I might be able to play against Bastia on Saturday with the help of pain-killing injections."

PSG boss Luis Fernandez will now have to rely on 24-year-old Luxembourg international Stephane Gillet if Alonzo's injury is serious.
