ZAGO FRUSTRATED WITH ROMA TALKS

ROMA defender Antonio Carlos Zago has warned he will quit the club if he cannot agree fresh terms at Stadio Olimpico.

The rugged Brazilian international has issued the ultimatum after failing to secure a new contract, despite lengthy negotiations with officials from the Serie A champions.

"I want to stay with Roma," he admitted.

"This delicate situation has gone on for a year and a half. I want to remain here, but I want the talks closed for the best.

"Otherwise, come December, I could sign for another club.

"I have offers but, I repeat, my will is to stay here in Rome.

"To be able to sign a contract, there must be agreement between the two parties and, at this moment, they are not in accord."
