MORTEN SET FOR EMOTIONAL RETURN
The Danish midfielder, 30, was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a virus that attacks the brain, in October 2000 and it was feared he would have to hang up his boots.
However, Wieghorst appears to have made a full recovery and is expected to figure in Tuesday night's CIS Insurance Cup match with Stirling Albion.
"Morten Wieghorst is definitely in the squad and I think he's looking forward to it," said Bhoys coach Martin O'Neill.
"He's been doing very well and his progress is remarkable. That sort of illness puts football into perspective.
"He has shown great determination to try and come back. In terms of being patient, I'm not sure that young men who are good athletes and struck down with something like that, are the most patient of people.
"I think it's really amazing for him to be considered at first-team level again.
"It's exactly what he's looking for - to be back as a first-team player and to have rightful ownership of a first-team place."
