VIALLI PONDERS LANNA MOVE

Veteran stopper Marco Lanna is believed to have been contacted by the former Chelsea boss with a view to linking up with The Hornets, although he is currently training with cash-strapped Fiorentina.

If La Viola cannot offer the 33-year-old the right deal, it is possible he will head for England instead.

Lanna had looked set to join Chelsea but was unable to follow up a trial with a permanent contract because Claudio Ranieri failed to off-load one of his defenders.

The former Sampdoria star has also seen moves to Milan and Rayo Vallecano collapse in the past year when, on both occasions, he looked certain to sign.

Meanwhile, Hornets duo Nick Wright and Lee Cook have given Vialli a boost by making significant progress in their bid to return to first team action after injury.
