COUNTY SEAL LESCOTT DEAL
The 22-year-old has signed a two-and-a half-year deal with the struggling club and he has completed his move in time to make his debut at Norwich on Thursday.
Lescott has saw his chances of playing regularly at Hillsborough limited and he admitted once he knew Palmer was in for him it was an easy decision to make to leave Wednesday.
"Once CP made a move for me I had no hesitation in coming to Stockport," Lescott told the club's official website.
"Carlton was a great player and I think he has all the attributes to be a great manager."
"I am a box-to-box midfielder who likes to score goals. Hopefully I can chip in with a few to help keep us in the First Division, which is what we deserve.
"I know County are in a difficult position but so were Wednesday last season. We got out of trouble then and I know we can now."
Palmer was delighted to have made the young star his first signing.
"Aaron is a young player who meets the criteria we are looking for," said Palmer. "He can tackle, pass and has a good engine.
"I rated him highly from my time at Hillsborough and I'm confident he will do a good job for us."
Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers are still interested in signing County's Finnish striker Shefki Kuqi.
Rovers have had a bid rejected for the tall forward, but they are still keeping tabs on him.
