MUZZI WOULD FAVOUR LAZIO SWITCH

UDINESE'S want-away star Roberto Muzzi has declared that he would prefer a move to his beloved Lazio than to Juventus.

Muzzi who has declared on several occasions that he is seeking a route out of Udinese, is rumoured to have been targeted by Juve's Marcello Lippi as he looks to build for the second half of the season.

However, the prolific striker admits that, being a lifelong Lazio fan, he would prefer a move to Rome, a city he know well from his time at Roma.

"In fact it was very difficult to play the Roman derby, since I was on the wrong team," Muzzi jokes.

"I used to wear a pendant of Lazio's eagle under my Roma shirt until someone - Bruno Conti - forced me to take it off.

"My support was always for Lazio.

"I am happy at Udinese but I would prefer to move," adds Muzzi. "It's months since I heard any rumours about a possible transfer to another club, but nothing has come of it.

"Now hopefully the hour has come.

"Of course if I had to choose between Juve and Lazio then I would choose the former one - for the reasons I have just explained and also because Rome is my city.

"I think I would work very well as a partner to [Lazio's} Hernan Crespo."

Muzzi will line up to face Lazio at the weekend, and he believes it will be a difficult game.

"Yes it is a difficult clash for us," admits the 30-year-old. "their coach Alberto Zaccheroni can call on great players who are good enough to win games on their own."
