BENFICA are said to be preparing a bid for Barcelona's out-of-favour striker Alfonso.
The Spanish international, renowned in La Liga for his sparkling white boots, has been a fringe player since joining from Real Betis two seasons ago and that has sparked interest from the Portuguese side.
With attackers such as Patrick Kluivert, Rivaldo and Saviola, who Alfonso lost his number seven shirt to, at Camp Nou the 30-year-old seems likely to continue warming the bench this term.
