RUI COSTA TO SIT IT OUT AT MILAN
NEW Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is set to rest key midfielder Manuel Rui Costa after the Portuguese star's indifferent start to the Serie A season.
The 29-year-old has been hampered by injuries and loss of form since his £28 million move from Fiorentina, and Ancelotti believes the player needs a break.
"Rui Costa was injured in the first Serie A match in August," said the Milan chief.
"I think the injury has stopped all the summer training work he did, so he is not on top of his game."
There have also been suggestions that Rui Costa and Serginho have had problems playing with one another, leaving Ancelotti looking for an answer.
"I have to find a solution to this tactical problem," added the former Juventus coach.
