JANSEN WAITING FOR ERIKSSON CALL

The 24-year-old is in his first full season in The Premiership but is confident of getting the call from Eriksson if he can sustain his current form.  

"With seven months to go, anything can happen. I aim to force my way into the next squad," said Jansen.

"Sven Goran Eriksson hasn't closed the door on selection and I find it encouraging that he has been to watch me in so many games this season."

A dearth of left-sided players has been the England chief's main concern during the successful World Cup qualifying campaign and the fact that Jansen is a natural left-footer is certainly in the player's favour.

The left wing position, the poisoned chalice of English football, is up for grabs and if Jansen is given the opportunity by Eriksson, and takes it, he could book his place on the plane to the Orient.
