ONO THE HERO FOR FEYENOORD
The Germans set their stall out to frustrate the Rotterdam outfit and for long periods their policy appeared to be working but Japanese sensation Ono dealt them a sucker punch with a goal in the last ten minute, collecting a fine pass from Paul Bosvelt to stroke the ball home.
The Germans showed they will be a threat on home soil, with their best chance falling to Stefan Muller but he fired over from eight yards.
Freiburg may well fancy their chances in the second leg, but the Dutch outfit avoided conceding on home soil and know an away goal in Germany will leave them in prime position to qualify.
