WOLVES TAKE STURRIDGE ON LOAN
The 28-year-old striker has been told he is surplus to requiements by Foxes boss Dave Bassett and the move could become permanent if things go well for Sturridge at Molineux.
"Dean has joined Wolves for a month and if he impresses it could lead to a permanent move," Bassett said.
"I've had a chat with Dean and we agree it would be best for him to move on. He is surplus to what I want and there is no point in really keeping him. This is a good opportunity for him.
"James Scowcroft has now fully recovered and I think we've got enough strikers at the club. If Scowcroft hadn't got himself fully fit I'd have kept Sturridge but I feel he's ready."
Sturridge has scored six times in 20 starts for Leicester since joining the club ten months ago, including two against former club Derby this season.
Since Bassett took over from Peter Taylor the diminutive frontman has made just three appearances, being substituted on each occasion.
At Molineux, he will compete with Nathan Blake, Michael Branch, Adam Proudlock and Cedric Roussel for a striking berth.
Wolves boss Dave Jones became interested in Sturridge after being rebuffed in their bid to sign his team-mate - and former Wolves striker - Ade Akinbiyi.
