OLDHAM MAKE A SMART MOVE

OLDHAM ATHLETIC have completed the signing of Watford striker Allan Smart for £225,000.

The lanky front-man has agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Boundary Park and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's clash with Cardiff at Ninian Park.

He is also eligible for the club`s LDV Vans Trophy quarter final clash with Notts County on Tuesday, but he will then be sidelined for three games as he serves a suspension from a loan spell with Stoke.

Smart was shown the red card in a clash against The Latics on November 21.

The 27-year-old striker has not started a game under Gianluca Vialli at Vicarage Road, and had mixed fortunes in two different loan spells earlier this season.

He scored one goal in five games while on loan at Hibernian, but in two games for Stoke, he received a red card and was on the wrong end of a 6-1 thrashing to Wigan Athletic.
