TREZEGUET BAN LIFTED

JUVENTUS striker David Trezeguet has had his two-match ban reversed by Italian disciplinary chiefs.

The Frenchman was handed the punishment after TV evidence was used to see the incident missed by referee Pierluigi Collina during their Serie A clash at the weekend.

However, Serie A officials have now reversed the decision following an appeal by the Turin club.

Assistant referee Pietro Contente had played a major role in the decision after he told a panel that the striker's actions were 'not relevant in a disciplinary way'.

The disciplinary panel said that the TV evidence was originally used because no official had seen the incident but now Contente's evidence had been heard, the incident that appeared to show Trezeguet's using his head was of no use.

Therefore, they had no option but to reverse the decision and remove the ban imposed on the French international.
