KARPIN: THERE IS NO CRISIS AT CELTA

The Russian midfielder has been a stalwart in Galicia for Celta for some time, and although having had his own run-ins with the team's management, Karpin was keen to prove his loyalty to the cause.

Karpin stated: "Celta is not in crisis.  The squad has always been very calm, although some journalists have wanted to talk up this delicate situation.

"We are three points off the leader and playing well.  We must work in the league and to try to obtain a Uefa position or, why not, a Champions League place."

Meanwhile, French forward Florian Maurice is back in training following a severe leg injury, although Silvinho is still troubled by an ankle knock.  Alexander Mostovoi completed his four match suspension during Celta's 1-0 win over Villarreal and will be available for selection against Barcelona.
