WEAVER TOLD HE DOES HAVE CITY FUTURE
Weaver was omitted from the squad for City's midweek clash with Wolves in favour of former Stockport keeper Carlo Nash, but after apologising to the former England coach, Weaver has been reinstated to the squad for Sunday's game with Bradford City.
However, Keegan will not install him to the first team and has warned Weaver he must clean up his act and to be more professional.
"He didn't the break club rules but he went out on Saturday night after the game until the early hours of the morning," Keegan said.
"I wasn't happy about it. I think sometimes footballers have not just got to look at the rules but also look at the rules that are not written down - doing right and being professional.
"I don't think Nicky Weaver was and I've told him. I left him off the bench the other night, which I feel was the correct decision.
"He was out in the early hours of Sunday morning and we had a game on the Tuesday. I think I had every right to leave him out.
"But there is no long-term damage between him and me. He has come in and apologised. He knows what he did was wrong.
"It is up to him now to fight to win his place back. This talk of me looking for other keepers is rubbish.
"He's got a lot of ability, he's got a lot going for him and he has just got to realise he is a professional footballer, who is well paid by this club and he has to behave properly."
