COUNTY HIT BACK TO DENY WIGAN
PAUL HEFFERNAN'S first goal of his professional career 14 minutes from time was enough for Notts County to snatch a 1-1 draw at Wigan Athletic.
Former Barnsley striker Andy Liddell had given Paul Jewell's side a 14th minute lead, but they could not capitalise on their good start.
And they were made to pay by Heffernan, who marked his first ever league start with the equaliser and silence the 2,827 who bothered to turn up to the JJB Stadium.
The win denied The Latics the opportunity of climbing into the top half of the table, while a point for The Magpies leaves them amongst the bottom four sides in the division.
