EDWARDS EXTENDS STAY AT THE PALACE

CRYSTAL PALACE boss Trevor Francis has decided to extend Christian Edwards' loan spell with the club for a second month.

Francis has been impressed with the 26-year-old Nottingham Forest ace, who has formed an impressive partnership at the heart of the Palace defence alongside Kit Symons.

"Christian has a further opportunity to show us he's worth a contract," Francis said.

"He's been here a few games now but this means we can have another look at him."

Forest have also allowed Edwards to play against them when the two club's clash on Thursday.

Francis is likely to assess Edwards over the coming month and decide whether to make a permanent move for him, when his loan spell expires.
