GREMIO MOVE FOR ALVES
GREMIO have been linked with a move for Hertha Berlin's temperamental Brazilian front-man Alex Alves.
The Samba ace, 27, has made no secret of his desire for a return to his homeland and Brazilian media reports claim Alves is in talks with Gremio about a possible deal.
Nison Maldana, the agent of Alves, has confirmed the interest from the Brazilian club saying it would represent "an excellent alternative" to the German capital.
In January 2000 Alves joined Hertha for a record £4.85 million but failed to justify that price tag netting a disappointing 12 goals in 45 league games.
The value of the mercurial Brazilian has diminished during his time at the Olympic Stadium but The Old Lady hope to recoup at least £3 million on Alves.
