WE DON'T WANT BECKS INSIST JUVE

SERIE A giants Juventus insist they are not interested in signing Manchester United ace David Beckham as he would not get into their team.

Clubs across Europe have been put on red alert after Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson dropped him from United's first XI, but the Turin-based giants say they are happy with their squad and would not consider making the Premiership champions an offer they would find hard to resist.

"We have only just bought Pavel Nedved for central midfield and Gianluca Zambrotta is an excellent player on the right wing," Juve's vice-president Roberto Bettega said.

"Right now we are happy with our squad so we are not going to change anything important in the near future.

"Juventus will stick with Trezeguet and Del Piero and don't forget we have Salas, Amoruso and young players coming through.

"We know that Beckham is an excellent player but there are not enough places in the team to accommodate him.

"First, we don't know if Beckham wants Juventus and we have not spoken to anyone about Beckham."

The England skipper has been left on the substitutes` bench for the club`s last two fixtures and could be amongst the subs again as United travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
