The Bosnian-born 24-year-old also qualifies for Austria, but he will be eligible to play for the African country when he marries his Nigerian girlfriend in the next few weeks.

The Africans made an approach for Orman after seeing him in action for Hibs and he will become the first white player to represent the Super Eagles.

"I don't think Austria want me, but the fact Nigeria have qualified for the World Cup finals makes their approach worth considering," said Orman. 

"It would be a terrific chance for me."

The news comes soon after Leicester City striker Ade Akinbiyi revealed his hopes of also being included after appearing for Nigeria in a friendly two years ago.

Akinbiyi faces a tough task, though, after being omitted from Amodu Shaibu's squad for the African Nations Cup.
