CAFU REFUTES ENGLISH LINKS
The Brazilian full back has been mentioned in the Italian media as a possible bargaining tool in an attempt from the Serie A champions to land United star David Beckham.
It has been suggested there is a genuine offer from Sir Alex Ferguson for Cafu, even though Chelsea have previously been forwarded as his likeliest destination.
However, the 30-year-old is happy in the Italian capital.
"The contract is ready, it only lacks the signature," claimed the classy defender.
"For now I only have a deal until 2003, but it all depends on the club.
"I remain happy here and, goodness knows, we may even be ready to drink a toast to renewing the contract before we break up for Christmas."
The latest keeper touted as a United target, meanwhile, is Chievo Verona's Cristiano Lupatelli but the number of shot-stoppers being linked to the Old Trafford club has reached ludicrous proportions recently.
