KEEPER JOINS AS ETHERINGTON LEAVES

BRADFORD CITY have snapped up Cheltenham Town goalkeeper Carl Muggleton in a month-long loan deal as caretaker boss Steve Smith looks to ease the goalkeeping crisis sweeping through Valley Parade.

The managerless Bantams saw Aidan Davison injure himself during The Bantams' clash with Coventry last week, while Gary Walsh has been sidelined through illness.

Third choice John Worsnop has a thigh injury and such is the seriousness of the Yorkshire club's keeping crisis that 38-year-old coach Mark Prudhoe was registered as a player last week.

However, Muggleton's arrival has eased the burden on Smith, who was desperate to register Smith before Friday's 5 pm deadline for next week's FA Cup clash with Walsall.

Muggleton's temporary switch does mean that on-loan Spurs winger Matthew Etherington has had to return to White Hart Lane as the club are only allowed to loan two players at any one time.

They also have Stephen Caldwell on-loan from Newcastle and had to sacrifice one of their loanee's to allow Muggleton to arrive at Valley Parade.
