BAYERN SEEK COMPENSATION OVER KEHL

THE Sebastian Kehl saga has taken another twist with the news that Borussia Dortmund may have to pay a compensation fee to Bayern Munich after nabbing the star from under the noses of their bitter rivals.

Kehl was poised to join Bayern after giving club officials his word but BVB registered their interest in the budding ace who then performed a controversial U-turn, opting for the Westfalen Stadion instead.

Bayern are furious with the player and are pleading with the German Football Federation (DFB) to force Dortmund to offer compensation for the 21-year-old defender.

Meanwhile, the Munich club themselves are under investigation after Dortmund President Dr. Gerd Niebaum attacked Bayern's original approach for the German international.

The Bundesliga champions had contact with the Freiburg star six months before his contract expired which is not in accordance with Fifa regulations.

Kehl will join up with his new BVB team-mates on Friday January 4 with Freiburg receiving circa six million Marks (£1.7 million) for the German international.
