RONALDO CALM AFTER TWO-GOAL SHOW

RONALDO has expressed satisfaction at bagging a brace of goals in Internazionale`s 3-0 win over Verona, but claims he is still well short of peak fitness.

The Brazilian superstar is making tentative progress from a career-threatening knee injury, and two goals on Wednesday can only boost confidence.

Speaking after the game, Ronaldo said: "I will now strive to improve, because I am still some way from my best.

"It is incredibly satisfying to score two goals in front of my fans."

The typically modest forward heaped praise on the rest of the Inter squad, adding: "They have backed me as I have tried to return to my best, and goals always give you a boost."
