TIGERS SNAP UP VAN BLERK

The 33-year-old defender has been without a club since Stockport decided against extending his three-month deal at the beginning of the campaign and he will bring some much valued experience to The Tigers' squad.

"I had a couple of other irons in the fire while I was with Wrexham but I think Brian Little (pictured) had a chat with Richard (Sneekes) about what I was doing and everything went from there," he said.

"I don't know too much about the club itself but I'm aware that the team just dipped out in the play-offs last season.

"That was a pretty good achievement considering that the gates were actually locked at one stage and the recovery has been brilliant from what I've seen.

"It looks as though promotion could be on the cards this time around and obviously it's great to think that I could be a part of that.

"I worked under Brian (Little) at West Brom and know how he operates and the fact that he's here is a major plus for me."
