NIELSEN NORWICH TALKS CONTINUE
NORWICH CITY have confirmed they are in negotiations with Danish striker David Nielsen over a permanent move to Carrow Road, but do not expect a deal to be done in the near future.
Nielsen has proved a massive hit with the First Division promotion chasers after joining them on-loan from Division One rivals Wimbledon, and his five goals in five games has prompted Canaries boss Nigel Worthington to sign him permanently.
Worthington jokingly stated the deal depends on 'how many millions Nielsen wanted', but the club's PR manager, Joe Ferrari, said the two parties are edging closer to concluding a deal.
"The situation remains the same as in the last couple of days which is that the two clubs have agreed a fee in the region of £200,000 and now we are discussing personal terms with the player," Ferrari said.
"Once these are agreed there is then the formality of a medical to go through and that is where we are at the moment and are quite likely to be for the remainder of today (Thursday), possibly even into the beginning of next week before we can confirm the transfer."
Nielsen has publicly stated his wish to leave Selhurst Park in favour of a move to the Norfolk club and he expects the deal to be concluded in the next few days.
"We're getting there," he said. "Everyone wants this move to happen, so it should happen."
