ASPER SET FOR BESIKTAS

TURKISH giants Besiktas are close to completing a loan deal for Real Sociedad keeper Mattias Asper.

The Swede is wanted by the Istanbul club to replace first choice Thomas Myhre, who has been ruled out until March through injury.

Asper has endured a torrid time in San Sebastian, and has spent the majority of his La Liga career on the bench since moving from AIK 18 months ago.

His agent Anders Wallsten confirmed that a deal is expected to be sealed within the next few days.

"Mattias and I are discussing the Besiktas alternative right now. It's possible that we might go there in the next few days," Wallsten told Swedish daily Expressen.
