PSG ADMIT APPROACH FOR SAVIO

PARIS ST GERMAIN boss Luis Fernandez has admitted that he tried to bring Real Madrid forward Savio to his club, as well as his team-mate Santiago Solari but said they could not afford the asking price for either player.

Savio is out of favour with Real Madrid and has been linked with a number of clubs including Manchester United, but the Spanish side are unwilling to let the player to leave on loan.

"Indeed we were interested by Savio and Solari, and I even asked Valdano," Fernandez said.

"With the financial conditions though, we pulled out. Both players could not be loaned, and the transfer fee was too high.

"I even called directly one of the two players, he told me he wanted to come, but not on a loan."

Savio would cost around 18 million Euros (£11 million pounds).

Fernandez has also been strongly linked with young Olympique Marseille defender Zoumana Camara, with l'OM chief Bernard Tapie saying a fortnight ago that he was set to rejoin PSG for 50 million francs.

Lens are also interested in the 22-year-old and Fernandez admits a move is not definite

"We are interested in Camara, but we are not the only ones chasing him."

"I don't want anymore of my players leaving and no one has asked me to go, but it is possible that one or two players may come in."
