Hadji attacks Moroccan 'back stabbing'

ASTON VILLA midfielder Moustapha Hadji has seemingly brought the curtain down on his international career, after he launched a scathing attack on the Moroccan squad.

The 30-year-old playmaker has not been included in the African Nations' Cup squad by coach Humberto Coelho and Hadji has claimed that he has been forced out of the international scene.

"There is a cliqueish atmosphere in the squad," he said.

"It is a really sour atmosphere and when I arrived I felt that I was a considered like a foreigner.

Hadji has been constantly attacked in the Moroccan press since missing a World Cup qualifier against Algeria in May.

The former African player of the year also took a lot of personal criticism in July, when Senegal narrowly edged past Morocco to stake a claim in the World Cup finals.

Hadji, though, has hit back and blamed other members of the international squad for the exclusion of him and his brother Youssuf.

"It isn't really done that other members of the squad stab us in the back," he said.

"Youssuf did not turn down being selected, he was deprived of it."
